When someone shares a link in a Snap or chat message, the `Snap URL Preview Service` fetches the page to generate a tappable preview card. Snapchat’s crawler does not execute JavaScript, reads standard Open Graph tags with Twitter Card fallbacks, and has one of the shortest cache TTLs of any platform at approximately 30 minutes.

This guide covers how Snapchat’s crawler works, which tags it reads, image handling, its short cache window, and common issues including frequent re-fetching behavior.
